Confidentiality and Privacy Agreement

As a Public Services employee, you will be working with confidential information.  This includes employee records, computer files, office records, and circulation, interlibrary loan and document delivery transactions.  It is imperative you maintain in strict confidence any information you encounter.

Students working in the Z. Smith Reynolds Library agree to the following confidentiality and non-disclosure terms:

  1.  A student employee will not, at any time, use for their own benefit or divulge, furnish or otherwise make available, either directly or indirectly, to any person, firm, or other entity any confidential information.  
     
  2. A student employee, upon the cessation of work for ZSR Library, will immediately surrender and deliver to a supervisor, all lists, books, records, memoranda, documents and data of every kind relating to proprietary information and all other property belonging to ZSR Library.
     
  3. If a student employee engages in unauthorized use (such as browsing patron records), disclosure (describing the content of a reference transaction to one unable to assist with the transaction), alteration or destruction of data they will be immediately dismissed.
