Schedules and Hours

Check your email frequently!  It will be the number one way we try to communicate with you, and expect you to communicate with us! If you are unable to make your shift(s), you will need to contact your supervisor using the main Access Services Listserv email: accessstaff@gg.wfu.edu

Emergency/Sickness: In case of an emergency/sickness, you are required to contact a supervisor via their personal phone extension or email. When emailing, please copy your email to the following address as well: accessstaff@gg.wfu.edu. The purpose of copying your email is that if your supervisor is not here that day, another supervisor will be informed of your situation.

Hours: A schedule of 6-8 hours per week is preferable. Working periods of two hours are also preferable. Because everyone is overwhelmed at exam time, we create a whole new schedule for Finals. Everyone will be expected to work six hours during the exam period. You will also need to let us know if you have another on-campus job.

Inclement Weather Procedures: If classes are delayed or cancelled due to inclement weather, you will be contacted via email regarding your work schedule for that day.

Grounds for Dismissal: Grounds for dismissal include: three unexcused absences during one semester, falsifying your Workday timesheet, poor job performance, and insubordination.

Unexcused Absences: Unexcused absences will be recorded. An unexcused absence is an absence when you have not notified a supervisor or your absence was not excused by a supervisor. One unexcused absence will be followed be a verbal warning. After two unexcused absences, a written warning will be issued and you will be required to sign it. Three unexcused absences will be cause for dismissal.

Tardiness: You are expected to be on time and work the full amount of time you are scheduled for. Three unexcused tardies (10 minutes late) equals one unexcused absence.

Remember that you are always expected to be on time and ready to work when your shift starts.

Posting Hours: If you cannot work your shift, you are required to either find a substitute or post your hours via the online Posted Hours Form.  You may post hours via the student assistant email listserv: circstudents@gg.wfu.edu Posting to email is allowed within THREE HOURS of your shift. Anything beyond that needs to be posted via the online Posted Hours Form.

When you sign up for another student's hours, you become responsible for those hours. Three instances of posted hours that are not accounted for equals one unexcused absence.

Workday: You must log your hours on Workday at the start of each shift that you work. You must submit your hours by the last day of the two week pay period (this happens on a Friday). If you don't, you will not get paid until the following pay period.
