Wendell Randolph Grigg Papers, MS360
W.R. Grigg was a Baptist pastor in North Carolina and a long-time leader in denominational race relations on the association, state, and Southern Baptist Convention levels.

His papers contain biographical information; correspondence; educational files; literary productions (articles, book reviews, and sermons); articles, pamphlets, and speeches of others on segregation, race relations, and African-American Baptists, and racism; interviews; photographs; and professional files.

George Pennell Circus Collection, MS585
George Pennell was an attorney who worked extensively in the entertainment industry. This work included serving as an attorney for fairs and circuses in NC, including some Cherokee fairs.

James Ralph Scales Papers, MS311
Scales was a college teacher, dean, president, and president emeritus at Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee; Oklahoma State University, Stillwater; Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina (1967-83); and Worrell Professor of Anglo-American Studies at Wake Forest. Scales was of partial Cherokee descent and was active throughout his life in Indian affairs.
