Professional Organizations & Blogs

To locate professional organizations for academic disciplines, you can use online search engines. A simple and effective approach is to perform a specific search for your field.

For example, search for professional association + [your academic discipline] OR academic society + [your field].

Using a .org Domain Search in Google

  • A Google site search allows you to search through one domain or website.
  • Search one site (like journalnow.com) or limit your results to a domain like .edu, .org or .gov
  • In your Google search bar, enter site:[domain or website]
  • To search non-profits or NGOs, use site:.org and then enter your search terms

Find a Database

Tips for locating relevant subject databases:

  • "Find by Subject" and "Filter by Subject" feature on lefthand side to limit by academic discipline.
  • Check out the "Best Bets" options in the blue box of your selected discipline (if available).
