Finding Newspapers and Magazines

To locate a particular periodical, search for the title in Find a Journal. You will see options for both print and electronic access, if available. 

Background Sources

Use the background sources here, as well as other sources you might encounter, to gather information about your topic and consider what you still need to know before you start researching. Make note of Dates, Places, Names of explorers, Names of indigenous peoples, Names of organizations, expeditions, government agencies, etc., Names of particular laws or events 

Background sources can also help you understand the larger historical context, so that you can determine what primary sources might be most useful or how a particular primary source fits into what was happening at that time.

To search for articles on your topic, use the online databases listed below. Click on the PDF or linked full text to view the full article, or click on WFU Full Text Options to search our holdings for the article. 

Remember, if we don't have a journal or article you need, you can request it through Interlibrary Loan!
