ZSR Resource Services Student Assistant Guide: Incoming Orders

Incoming Orders

Every order should have the following information:

  • The initials of the requestor who submitted the order
  • An academic fund (such as ANTF, LIT, etc.) to which the order can be charged.

Sometimes a requestor will send a bundle of orders on paper fastened together with a note on the top indicating the requestor's initials and fund. When this happens, separate the orders and write the requestor's initials and the fund on each order. Some orders may have extra notes to indicate that they need special handling. If you see any of the following messages written on an order, take the order immediately to a staff member:

  • Rare
  • Personal Order
  • RUSH

Each new order on paper must be stamped with the date of the day it arrived. Stamp the date on the upper right hand corner of each order. When the new orders have been sorted and date-stamped, they should be moved to the Voyager searching tray to begin the search process.
