Through WFU's NYT Academic Pass, patrons also have access to The Athletic. The Athletic delivers powerful stories and smart analysis that bring sports fans closer to the heart of the game. From breaking news and live commentary, to deeply-reported long reads and exclusive interviews, subscribers rely on The Athletic for every sports story that matters.
Through the website or The Athletic app, you can personalize your experience by following your favorite teams (Go Deacs!), leagues, and writers.
The Athletic also has over 80 podcasts, available only to subscribers, as well as 8 email newsletters.
To access this resource, users must first create a New York Times account, and claim the Academic All Access Pass.
- Go to theathletic.com, and click log in on the top right of the screen. You will the be directed to the below screen.
- To access The Athletic, and link it to your Academic All Access Pass, you must log in using the "Continue with The New York Times". This will link your NYT account with your new Athletic account.
- In the next screen, it will ask you to log in using your New York TImes account.
- The first time you log in to The Athletic, you will be require to confirm your account with a code. You will recieve an email like below, and enter this code into the webpage.
- Once you've entered the code, your Athletic account will be confirmed. As a reminder, you will always need to log in to The Athletic using the "Continue with The New York Times" option. You shouldn't be required to confirm your account by code other than when you first set up your account.
