HST 390: Gender and Sexuality in World History

The Archives of Sexuality and Gender program provides a collection of primary sources for the historical study of sex, sexuality, and gender. With material dating back to the sixteenth century, researchers and scholars can examine how sexual norms have changed over time, health and hygiene, the development of sex education, the rise of sexology, changing gender roles, social movements and activism, erotica, and many other interesting topical areas. LGBT Collection 1 contains archival runs of 26 of the most influential, longest-running serial publications covering LGBT interests. Includes The Advocate and Gay Times. Chronicles more than six decades of the history and culture of the LGBT community. Coverage: 1954-2015

Queer Pasts is a digital queer history project consisting of primary source document collections and curatorial essays. The digital exhibits on this platform are designed for students, teachers, and scholars of queer history.

HathiTrust Digital Library is a digital preservation repository and highly functional access platform. It provides long-term preservation and access services for public domain and in-copyright content from a variety of sources, including Google, the Internet Archive, Microsoft, and in-house partner institution initiatives. This database examines efforts to foster gender equity through expanded economic and social participation of women on a global scale. Covering a century, the database highlights and evaluates activism through individual efforts, organizational initiatives, and socio-cultural projects led by or for women in the Global South.
