Advanced Search Features in International Medieval Bibliography

A search for "Black Death" in quotation marks yields 885 results. I added limits to English language articles, Italy as geographic location, and 14, that is 1300-1399, as the century. Adding these limits gets the results set down to 52.

Databases like the International Medieval Bibliography (IMB) often have advanced search features that can make your search more precise and relevant. In the screen capture above, I searched for the word 'plague' which IMB turned into its official term Black Death. Then I added limits to English-language articles, Italy as the geographic location, and 14 (or 1300-1399) as the century. After adding all these limits, an initial search result of 885 is narrowed down to 52.
